To our people and public Opinion
We are very upset to learn that there has been a great loss of life, damage and also thousands injured following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake in central Van and Erciş and the Serhat Region of Kurdistan. We wish that God’s compassion is with the dead and send our condolences to their families and relatives and our best wishes to those injured.
The pain and victimization of thousands of families and tens of thousands of people is the joint pain of our people. This is why we are appealing to all the Municipalities of our people, all NGO’s and aid organizations and all individuals who have means to immediately begin a campaign of mass mobilization so we can heal the wounds of this great catastrophe. The rescue missions to save people that are still under the wreckage, the immediate treatment of those injured and the famine and cold weather conditions may be alleviated just a little if this mobilization is achieved. This is why everyone must act in solidarity and cooperate to obtain blankets, beds, medicines and all fundamental foodstuffs. Our people must not wait for the state’s stolid and negligent approach and act by mobilizing its own facilities.
We believe that this great catastrophe will create a greater unity and solidarity between our people. Once again we would like to send our condolences and best wishes to all our people and would like to state that we wholeheartedly believe that we will get through this difficult event successfully.
In particular our people should be aware that a new and political struggle and leap forward has commenced and thus should strengthen its organization and target success on the basis of a high level participation.
